It was the first of many. With our second family (the boys) embarking on adventures untapped by their sisters, we entered a new set of experiences. It started with our first pack meeting, then our first blue/gold banquet (where we won the biggest cake prize!) and then last Saturday, the ever exciting pinewood derby!
Jason worked on his car on and off for a couple of weeks (under the direction of his dad). He came up with a great design, learned how to sand wood, paint, decorate, put on weights and wheels, add the finishing touch of graphite, and then it was off to the races!
I was not able to join them though, because as often happens with a large family, we had conflicting schedules. I had the honor of taking Amanda and Breanna to the University of Texas for a piano festival. The girls worked hard and played beautifully!
When we made our way to the church, we discovered that Jason had won 2nd place!! Way to go buddy!
It was a good day.
